This is line from my paper that just got published yesterday. It talks about this history of De Beers through a different lens, the beauty of their “tricky” heritage that has allowed them to enter the retail market, and the emerging complications arising from external forces. The diamond industry that was paved with the strategies of De Beers is now at the brink of a power play that will change the face of this industry for years to come.

Who will emerge? Who will be left behind? and which part of the value chain will control the diamond industry?
